Ingrid Rose

Ingrid Rose, PhD

I have been in private practice for the past 25 years, working with a large range of presentations in children, adolescents, and adults. I work with children from the age of 3, using a variety of play therapy techniques including Jungian sandplay, as well as working with individual youth and groups of high school students on issues of marginalization and aggression. I have been a process work diplomate since 1995, practicing and teaching in Portland, Oregon. Areas of interest and application over the years have been in working with:

  • Children, Adolescents, Families
  • Couples and Relationships
  • Individual therapy
  • Palliative and Coma Care
  • Group work and conflict facilitation
  • School violence and bullying
  • Student training and supervision

One main area of interest and application is in working with children and adolescents ranging in age from 3 – 18. My recently published book /School Violence: Studies in Alienation, Revenge, and Redemption(2009) researches dynamics associated with school violence and bullying. My article “Enlivening Sandplay through Process Work” can be found in the Journal of Process Oriented Psychology, 1992, giving an in-depth example of my work with younger children.
Another area of specialty of mine is in therapy with individuals, couples, and families. Having a doctorate in clinical psychology, I work in-depth with challenging issues and presentations both short and long-term. I also enjoy working with groups on diversity issues and conflict situations, one example being my work with environmentalists and foresters over old-growth disputes in Australia. As a faculty member of the Process Work Institute, I offer student training, individual therapy, supervision, exam preparation, classes, and offer seminars, training and group facilitation all over the world.
