Process-oriented Leadership: Theory and Practice

Ancient Leadership myths from India, Japan, Africa, and the Middle East, as well as modern scientific leadership paradigms, contain elements that show how the lifemyth – or journey principle – reveals itself in the ways that we lead, the challenges that we meet in our leadership activities, and the ways that we and the world transform in that process. Theory demonstrations with participants, innerwork, and live interviews with leaders from Portland's business, political and professional community.

Social Action: Seeing the "Other" as "Me"
Following in the footsteps of Gandhi, attempting to be the change you wish to bring, requires awareness of the "other" as yourself. Inner work is a prerequisite for this form of social action. In this workshop we will explore the connection between our ethnic, social and personal identities, the marginalization of inner experiences, and that of other people and social groups. Using inner work, work in dyads and group work we will delve into marginalized experiences of ourselves and experiences of the "other," unfolding them deeply to reveal aspects of our deeper self – an intelligence that moves us and organizes our experiences – and our task in the world.

Cooperating in Conflict: Facilitating Group and Community Conflict
As unpleasant as conflict may be, beneath it lays the key to security and cooperation. Conflicts can lead us to our common root and become a swift path to self-knowledge, relationship and community. Process Work focuses on awareness rather than action as a tool for unlocking conflict's potential. It teaches us to harness altered states as powerful tools for transformation. Its model of rank and privilegeprovides a path to identifying with the deepest source of power, while preventing escalation. This group facilitation course will present a precise methodology and accompanying skills to befriend and facilitate conflict in small and large groups. Saturday and
