Addictions, High & Low Dreams: Pathways to Wholeness and Liberation
Robert King, MSW
Most, if not all of us, have addictions and/or addictive tendencies. We yearn for the altered sates of consciousness that help us go beyond our usual identities. Although many of us feel helpless and ashamed about our addictions, the view taken in this course is that they are attempts at self healing, freedom and wholeness. This workshop will use Process Work ideas and tools as a means to discover the information/energy which is trying to come to life through our use of substances and behavioral addictions with a special emphasis on a common addictive pattern found in our moods cycling from hope to despair called High and Low Dreams. We will learn more about the personal, relational and transpersonal potential embedded in our addictions and addictive tendencies.
